I start with one of the text options offered and then personalize it with your names, the date and place of your wedding, and a few other specifics. When you place an order, I'll ask you to fill out this form with all of your information.
Absolutely. A few minor changes (like switching out a word or two) can be included in the starting price, but more extensive revisions will be priced as custom text. Keep reading below for more information about how this is determined.
Of course! Custom text requires typesetting and changing the layout of the designs to accommodate what you write, so try to keep your English version to 250 words or less. If you aren't planning to use Hebrew, or are interested in minimizing the Hebrew, more English text can be accommodated. I can also help translate your English text into Hebrew, if you'd like.
The starting price includes personalization — I add your names, the wedding date, the city where your ceremony takes place, and other specifics to the English and Hebrew text. Any transliteration needed for personalization is included. I put all of your information into the same typeface as the rest of the text so that everything looks integrated.
Anything beyond a few small changes to one of the existing texts will be charged as custom. If you like bits and pieces from various texts I offer, for example, you can mix and match. Or if you would like something different altogether, I can typeset a wholly new text for you. Custom text includes English and Hebrew if you have both prepared and ready to go.
If you would like help translating your custom English text into Modern Hebrew, that will be priced as a ketubah with custom text and Hebrew translation.
To see the pricing for each of these options, check the price list.
When you fill out the personalization form, you can either spell your names out in Hebrew letters or transliterate the Hebrew with English letters. If there is no Hebrew name, I can place a transliteration of your English name in the Hebrew section of the ketubah.
No, I only need to know how many witnesses you will have. Typically, people have 2 witnesses and an officiant sign.
